Horizon Counsellor Registration – 2026
Camp Horizon caters to high school students from Year 7 to Year 9 in Australia and PNG, and Year 8 to Year 10 in New Zealand. Participants from Australia, New Zealand, and PNG will come together in Sydney from 11th April to Tuesday 14th April 2026.
Please complete this form to register your interest in volunteering at Camp Horizon as a counsellor.
NOTE:You are required to be at least 20 years of age as of 10th April 2026.
There is a selection process which includes this application and an interview. The Camp Team will be in touch by 10th February 2026 to organise a 15-minute virtual interview.

I agree to participate in the camp’s activities. Specifically, I also agree to:
photographing and video recording of me while at the camp and the use of those photographs and video recordings by Social Development Inc in presentations to parents or other community members, for display in Social Development Inc’s premises and otherwise for the purpose of marketing future camps and similar programs. dissemination of the abovementioned photographs and video recordings to all participants as a personal keepsake of the camp experience. By receiving these images, you agree to use them respectfully and in a way that considers the privacy of others. Please do not distribute or publish photos involving others without their consent. Social Development Inc does not accept responsibility for how photos are used or altered once distributed. If you have any concerns about a photo, please contact us at [email protected]. transportation (by bus or by car) of you to another venue for the purposes of a camp activity (eg: transport by bus to a sport centre). provide a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) when requested by the camp implementation team. level of commitment required of me as a Camp Horizon Counsellor which includes being completely available for the duration of the Camp and attendance at the mandatory counsellor orientation before the camp

Should I require emergency medical treatment, I also understand that any incomplete or misleading medical information will affect the medical treatment administered to me.

Social Development Inc collects personal and health information for registration to Camp Horizon. The purpose of Camp Horizon is to encourage participants to try new experiences, emphasise the importance of a healthy and balanced lifestyle, enhance participants’ self-esteem, critical thinking and teamwork skills and encourage expression and creativity.
If personal and health information is not collected, the planning and implementation of Camp Horizon will not be able to be carried out effectively. Social Development Inc must have this information on hand to, amongst other things, communicate with you during the planning and implementation of Camp Horizon, ensure your safety and security and to provide you with efficient medical treatment at the camp site if necessary, and to ensure the content of the camp is suitable and catered appropriately to specific cohorts of participants.
Information provided to Social Development Inc will not be disclosed to any third party without your express consent.
Social Development Inc’s privacy policy allows you to access your information anytime to make changes as required. You may contact [email protected] to arrange this access.
Social Development Inc’s privacy policy allows you to file a complaint if you believe Social Development Inc has breached any Australian Privacy Principles. In addition, you may refer any difference or dispute to The Conciliation and Arbitration Board, having jurisdiction under the constitution of The Shia Imami Ismaili Muslims.
Social Development Inc will only disclose information to overseas persons with your express consent.
All information collected is securely stored in an electronic database. Only the members of the core project implementation team of Camp Horizon will have access to this information.
In the event of a medical emergency, I hereby authorize emergency treatment to be administered to me by a qualified staff member. I also give permission for myself to be transported by ambulance to an emergency centre or hospital if needed. I consent to medical treatments and procedures to be performed on me by a licensed physician or hospital when deemed immediately necessary or advisable by the physician to safeguard my health. I further accept responsibility for all expenses incurred for my medical treatment in case of an emergency.
I release, indemnify and hold harmless Social Development Inc, including His Highness Prince Aga Khan Shia Imami Ismaili Council for Australia and New Zealand, its portfolios, members, staff, volunteers and agents (including Camp Horizon counsellors and staff) from all liability, claim or expense, however arising, in anyway connected to my involvement with Camp Horizon.
By signing below, that I have read this consent in full and that the information I have provided in the registration for is complete and accurate. I acknowledge and agree to the terms set out in this consent.
